The Kapalaoa
Cabin Ride is a 12 mile horseback ride from the summit to Kapalaoa
Cabin and return. This is a long ride and only recommended for clients
who ride at least once or twice per week. Lunch will be served at the
Cabin.
The Ka Mao O Pele Junction Ride is a 8 mile horseback ride from
the summit to the floor of the Haleakala crater. This is our most popular
trail ride. Lunch will be served at the Junction.
The experienced guides will narrate the fascinating history of Haleakala
and its geology, with explanations of rare plants and animals found only
on Maui.
Riding Lessons are offered for beginners, intermediate or advanced
riders. Instruction in hunter, dressage and western riding. The instructor
can tailor a riding program to guests specific needs and goals.
Adult Horsemanship is offered Monday through Friday and includes
a 3 hour session. Guests will learn ground work exercises that help get
the horse under control and respectful, versatile desensitizing exercises
to help your horse be less spooky and more confident and saddle exercises.
Snacks, juice and bottled water provided.
Youth Half Day Camp is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday's.
Your child will learn horse and hoof anatomy, haltering and leading, grooming,
horsemanship skills, ground work and riding. One riding session will be
held. Snacks, juice and bottled water are provided.
Youth Day Camp is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday's for
a 3 hour session. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to spend
the day learning horse anatomy, haltering and leading, grooming, horsemanship
skills, ground work and riding. Campers will ride one session in the morning
and one session after lunch. Lunch will be served at the ranch.
